![]() *NOT* built for comfort and the only reason people go on about them is they've never used anything better, I have. They are difficult to use (the reason you see those for sale so often) But they are light and compact. I grab the belt and rest my elbows on the stand and lift my legs. You don't get near the distance on the way up per step with a LW hand climber as you do the summit. Yes it is close to the tree and your not going to push yourself up like a summit does (have that too). I believe you wanted to know how hard-easy the hand climber is to use. ![]() I am 6'1" and 230lbs, the stand was put to the test this year as I put 72 hrs in during our bow week, I will say I was pleased with the performance but again, my API and Summit are just as quiet and are more comfortable. I walk a ton while bowhunting and for that, the stand has paid for itself! Once in the tree I am sure you will not find a more rigid and sturdy platform, they are top of the bar in these 2 areas. I made it very clear to Lonewolf that the stand is hugely over priced and is not as quiet as they make it out to be. I have climbed every tree I did with my API but one. The sit and climb is nice because you have a lot of options to suit your hunting style. My new stand, squeaks at all of the teflon bushings and pivot points, the seat is better but still not a Summit or API. ![]() The cam locks on my stand were defective and kept coming loose while climbing, that is the main reason I didn't get rid of it. While I am very pleased with the stand it lacks in many areas, I don't know about the hand climber but I am sure it is more quiet because it doesn't have the climbing bar. I will warn you this stand is for guys not affraid on heights.with no railing and a small seat, a lot of guys complain that its scary.i call them guys Nancy or sissy boyĪfter many emails, I had found my stand was defective and they sent me a new one. I have a buddy thats 6'4'' and prob 220.and he also loves his hand climber I then use a bungee cord and strap the top section to the bottom when im done climbing, this keeps the top tight to the tree and keeps it from falling when i stand up to shoot or stretch. I like a tree that leans back or has some branches around the height I want to sit, then i put the upper seat above the branches and leave the platform below. I think it climbs easy and fast!Īs with any ee's like shag bark hickory and cherry trees can be a real pain.but anything else I fly up and down.ĬOMFORT? Its not the most comfortable stand, but its all about picking the right tree. I agree with everything BuckHunter said.If your looking for a simple, fast, quiet climber then the hand climber is your stand.
